Chairman: Mr. Phua Chian Kin

Mr. Phua Chian Kin has been the Group Chief Executive and Managing Director of TEE International since 1991. He is instrumental in spearheading the expansion and growth of the Group and is also responsible for the Group’s overall management, investment decisions, direction and policy decision-making. Mr. Phua is a Member of the Executive Committee. He is appointed as a Member of the Nominating and Remuneration Committee with effect from July 2009.
Mr. Phua has over 27 years of experience in the M&E engineering industry, starting his career with Danish multi-national LK-NES (SEA) Pte Ltd where he was later promoted to General Manager and Director. He joined Trans Equatorial Enterprises (SEA) Pte Ltd in 1990 as director which renamed to Trans Equatorial Engineering (SEA) Pte Ltd in 1991 and subsequently Trans Equatorial Engineering Pte Ltd in 1994, and took over the Group during a management buyout in 1993.
Mr. Phua graduated in 1979 from the Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. He was presented with the National Day Award - Public Service Medal in 2007.
Vice-Chairman: Dr W A M Alwis

Dr Alwis graduated from the University of Ceylon, Sri Lanka with a Bachelor of Science of Engineering (BScEng) in 1975. He subsequently obtained his Master of Engineering (MEng) from the Asian Inst. of Technology, Thailand and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Monash University, Australia.
Dr Alwis was a member of the academic staff at the Department of Civil Engineering, National University of Singapore, from 1982 to 2002, during which period he was engaged in teaching and research. Currently he is the Director of Academic Affairs at the Republic Polytechnic.
Dr. W.A.M. Alwis was presented with the National Day Award - Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2004.

Member: Mr Richard Ong Chui Chat

Mr Ong is a marine civil engineer with over 30 years experience operating in Southeast Asia in construction, marine engineering, business development and resource exploration. One of the founders of Straits Group, Mr Ong has been instrumental in the growth of the company and, in particular, its Indonesian coal operations. He is highly regarded by the Indonesian business community and has extensive commercial contacts throughout Asia. Mr Ong is a Singaporean who was presented with the National Day Award - Public Service Medal for his work with the community in 2009.

Mr Yan graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree, a postgraduate diploma in telecommunications software from the Information Communications Institute of Singapore (ICIS – a collaboration between NCB and AT&T) and a Master’s degree in Applied Finance from the University of Adelaide. He has extensive experience in education and information technology. In education, he was part of a select team of five sent to explore science research mentorship programmes at various states in the US. He is presently the Programme Director at ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems), managing a large scale IT infrastructure & Integrated Security project.

Mr Chan graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Masters in Business Administration. He leads a group of professionals in the region based offices in India, China, Japan and Australia, as well as 120 maintenance personnel here in Singapore.

Dr.P.Thiagarajan (Raj) is the consultant Orthopaedic and Knee Surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. He has been practising sports medicine surgery for 15 years and has worked in many overseas centers dealing with sportsmedicine and orthopaedic problems. Dr Raj graduated from the National University of Singapore, with an MBBS in 1983. He subsequently obtained his FRCS Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, Scotland in 1988, M.Ch.Orth , Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Liverpool in 1990.

Mdm Sanesa (also known as Liza Adam) is passionate about job as an Operations Manager at a voluntary welfare organization that promotes education and social programmes to families and the community. Having been on the job for more than 20 years and holding qualifications in this field, Liza makes every effort to juggle her time between her family, work and other commitments. She also plans to be an advocate for children’s rights to improve their quality of life whenever she can in the course of her work. Her desire to be actively involved and updated in the evolution process of Early Childhood Education motivated her to enrol in the BECS programme at SIM. In 2007 she graduated with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies at UniSIM. She believed that her studies will further enrich and value-add to the current skills and experience and in turn contribute in the field of education and the community. She is currently the Principal of Iyad-Perdaus Student Care at Jurong East.

Prof Teo is currently in the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering since 1982. He received his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Nottingham, UK, Master and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Nottingham and Strathclyde University, UK, respectively. His research interests include static and dynamic analysis of engineering and human skeletal structures. He has done significant research work his research areas and published over 50 top quality international conference and journal papers. He is an Editorial Board member of Medical Engineering & Physics, and has been often invited as a referee and reviewer for a number of grant applications, premier conferences and journals, including Spine, Biomechanics, etc. Dr. Teo is a member of PE Board and IES, Singapore.

William graduated with a Marketing degree from University of Oregon, USA in 1981. He started his career in the glamorous world of Advertising with Ogilvy & Mather Advertising. He spent 4 years in Enterprise Promotion Centres, a subsidiary of Economic Development Board, as a principal consultant to Small & Medium size Enterprises. He joined the IT world as a Division Manager then promoted to GM of Printset International, a reseller of IBM hardware & software and HP and Lexmark printers & accessories.
William entered the Exhibition industry via Pico Art International. He managed the multi-million dollar Singapore Pavilion, at the World Expo 2000, from concept to construction in Hannover, Germany for 12 months. He is now a Director at Radius Design with 7 offices in Asia and Europe – managing the international business development division and specialising in interior design & exhibitions.
William has a passion for volunteer work. He is the Region Chairman of Lions Club of Singapore, organising numerous community service projects and fundraising events.

Mr Koh Boon Long (M Ed) is an experienced educationist of 42 years service. Currently, an Adjunct NIE Lecturer & Principal Consultant, Mr Koh has served as a PE and GP teacher, Head of Department, VP, Principal, and finally as Deputy Director at the Ministry of Education. Mr Koh has also taught various leadership and other educational modules as an adjunct teaching fellow at the Singapore National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University since 1998.
A recipient of the 2001 National Day Public Administration Medal (awarded by the President of Singapore), Mr Koh has served as Principal for twelve years in three secondary schools with distinction – leading two of the schools to higher level of academic achievements and value-added awards.
